Documentation of a Date (sort of)

Last night Mr. and Mrs. Smith went on a date.
They went to a high school auditorium far far away so that they could listen to a man read them some stories.
But first they got milkshakes.
The photographic evidence of the milkshakes has vanished, along with the milkshakes. Mr. Smith was being funny about why he did not want the mint Oreo milkshake. He also gave a very fake smile when Mrs. Smith took his photograph in the dimly lit auditorium.
Mrs. Smith was kinda green from the mint Oreo milkshake she had. But not really.

All these people read books.

The man of the hour. Mr. Neil Gaiman.
He read two chapters from two of his books,  Stardust and Anansi Boys.
Mrs. Smith has read both of those books. She really likes to read voraciously and this particular author is very readable for her.
Mr. Smith is a very thoughtful man and discovered this reading. He got free tickets and bought his wife an autographed copy of ANOTHER book by this guy.
That was very sweet and lovey, don't you think?
Or maybe he just did it so that Mrs. Smith can't get on his case about dirty socks on the floor?
Hm. The questions of the universe.
Mrs. Smith and Mr. Smith had fun on their date. They did NOT ponder any questions of the universe.
Milo did, though. About how further to torture Squishface.

This is What Happens

that is Mr Potato-Head's green hat

When you give your
toddler the camera.I have LOTS more like this. The funniest part is how he says 'Cheese' to himself.
HILARIOUS

Today I woke up and sneezed 7594216 times. It sucked.
My sister's birthday is tomorrow. I think I will make her some cupcakes and maybe I will buy her a shower curtain rod like she has wanted for awhile. My sister Megan is the kindest, most generous person ever. She loves to make her home welcoming and she is SUCH a good auntie to the Goo. I love her very much That's her down there on the right side.
She also has naturally perfect blonde hair but I don't have any photos of that. The other one-the tan one is our baby sister Emilie. She is the one with the dancing talent. Oh-Megan and I can get down...but Emilie is the one who dances on pointe. En pointe?
I love that one very much as well.

This is an old photo of Milo and I that I just found while poking around. I like how his cheeks are all rosy from nursing. I had almost forgotten that used to happen.

He is going to be TWO YEARS OLD, people. My little snuggly nursling has turned into a monster boy who growls at me to be scary, but still gets scared when I let a RRRRROOOOWWWWWRRRRR (I can be very frightening). The party planning is underway. We went all out for his first birthday, so this year we are keeping things small: hosting at our teeny townhouse, only inviting immediate family and close friends, NOT renting the clubhouse in our complex...
(by 'underway', I mean that hopefully some of the invitations will go out in the mail today. yeah. I stink. )

And TONIGHT!!!
!!!!!!
Tonight I get to go on a date with my hunny!!!!
(that's him)

50 randoms

Stick with me...I'm a really interesting person...I did this on spacepage but this one will be better.

1.I have to pull out a odd number of paper towels in public bathrooms. Usually three or five.
2. My only 2 regrets are not going to college and breaking the heart of a good guy (if you're out there, guy-I hope some good came of it for you. I hope you found someone better for you.). Although hurting him led me to Christ...I guess that can't be a regret, huh?
3. I was NOT a person who napped until I had a baby.
4. I really enjoy round things...circles, people, polka dots
5. I don't think I am meant to have long hair.
6. My only real irrational fear is zombies.
7. My son has my eyes and my husband's eyelashes.
8. I have only ever traveled outside the country once.
9. High-strung, skinny people irritate me.
10. I am drawn to people that intimidate others.
11. I cannot be assertive. I go right to b*tchy.
12. Apparently I can pull off (at age 28) the same hairstyle I had at age 15. Take THAT, old ladies!!!!
13. I enjoy messing with people who are anal retentive. I am really NOT, so I enjoy chaos.
14. I married the perfect man for me.
15. I get really bad B.O. sometimes. I remember when I first started stinking. My mom and my sister made fun of me, and I was embarrassed and kept spraying Malibu Musk into my pits.
16. My dad said , "Althea's got hooters!" when my mom told him that we got me a training bra.
17. My parents really are rather loving people-they just have an odd way of showing it.
18. I get my sense of style from my dad.
19. I get my easy access to my emotions (and my writing chops) from my mom.
20. I wanted a divorce for my parents throughout my teen years. Then when they actually DID split up (I was an adult and living a couple states away) it was still really hard.
21. The only red lipstick I have ever liked on me is Chanel Fatale. Of course it had to be Chanel.
22. I love my friends like they are my family.
23. Sometimes I think I am crazy.
24. I have never once had a career.
25. I still don't know what I wanna be when I grow up.
26. The ladies in my small group are wonderful and I never want this study to end.
27. I really like Jewish food.
28. That being said, I want a bagel with cream cheese, homemade lox, sliced red onions and cucumbers for breakfast. Always.
29. Roasted veggies are the BEST.
30. Easter is my favorite holiday.
31. I will never be a vegetarian again.
32. I remember the first word I read and mispronounced. It was 'gee'. And Ernie said it to his rubber duckie in a book.
33. I REALLY want to learn to sew with cotton jersey.
34. I am no good at applying eye makeup.
35. I have worn glasses since third grade .
36. I read lots of crafty blogs instead of being crafty myself. But I'm working on that.
37. I consider myself a brave person.
38. I also consider myself a weak person.
39. We thought our second cat, Squishface, was a female until we took him to the vet. In retrospect we would have named him Mr. Pants.
40. I only got pregnancy stretch marks on the left side of my body.
41. Being told that I '...don't LOOK like a mom...' flatters me to no end. I never wanna be one of those frumpy, dumpy housewives. Oh, the temptation is there, don't get me wrong. Very frequently the only adult I see is my husband. But he asked me to not wear sweats every day, so I try not to.
42. I am a REALLY good speller.
43. I don't care to play video games. I have NO eye-hand co-ordination. NONE.

A Day in the Life

Okay, so this was my attempt to document my day in photos. You can see breakfast in the making, me before coffee, the first morning glimpse of Milo,my favorite coffee mug,Milo eating...and the view from my living room window.
I am not very good at editing yet so they are not labeled and they are NOT in order. Deal with it. Life is tough.
I am home from Superdawg now, Milo is sleeping , and Brian is downstairs playing video games. Later he will go out for beer (yum) and I think I will go work on that rag rug.
Yes, I am coming along with it. Yes, it is taking much longer than expected. A family friend said the other day , "There's gotta be an easier way to do that."
Yes, it was a male friend. I replied, "Well, the POINT was to NOT spend any money on this. I have so far spent a total of $ 2.12 on this rug."
Then he nodded, probably assuming I was crazy. You can buy a kitchen rug for less than $10!!! Silly girl...
But, no one will ever have a rug like mine. Including me if I don't get my butt in gear. Enjoy the photos. I have more and will post them someday.
I hope everyone had a really good weekend. My love to all.
