When we come into contact with the other person, our thoughts and actions should express our mind of compassion, even if that person says and does things that are not easy to accept. We practice in this way until we see clearly that our love is not contingent upon the other person being lovable.

  1. Any thoughts on dealing with one's enemies? Compassion isn't working.

  2. I'd recommend asking why they are considered your enemy in the first place?
    Compassion is something hard to come by in this world, and can do many great things. Especially when the compassion is undeserved and unexpected.
    You could always throw poopy diapers at them...thats an option...
    You and the family are welcome at Casa Des Smiths anytime-for dinner or a talk or whatever.
